Pokémon GO is addictive and immensely viral at the moment, but is it worth the hype? Here’s what you need to know.
Niantic has designed similar games such as Ingress in the past, which also works in the same way and uses the GPS. Pokémon GO isn’t much different but offers fun for the fans of Pokémons. The game is free for download on iOS and Android in selected countries at the moment, with releases planned for other regions soon.
How to get started?
Pretty disappointing but there’s no tutorial with Pokémon GO, and you have to start on your own. Pikachus and Jigglypuffs are all around, but you have no way to move the character, unless you choose to get around. You will also find PokeStops, where there are varied kinds of accessories, and at the gyms, there are other teams that you can compete with. You will get Stardust as you catch a new Pokémon, which can be used for power-ups for your pokemons.
For the fans, the game is amazing at many levels. From catching the Pokémons to finding Poke Balls and Potions, the game does work for most reasons. Also, it is fun to explore, and if you have been trying to lose weight, this one will give you reasons to walk around.
What’s not great?
The game doesn’t work in the same way as intended everywhere, which is kind of sad. Also, the battle play is confusing, and there have been serous issues and incidents with exploration with some players. By no means, one can use this app as a replacement for other Pokemon games.
Overall, Pokémon GO is kind of confusing initially, and you may need some time to understand many aspects. For the amazing hype, this one deserves a try.
